As I’ve shared with our clergy, I urge each of our churches to establish an intentional partnership with a church or diocese overseas. This could involve support of a long-term missionary, but it should also include developing a meaningful connection with indigenous church leadership.

It's been awhile since you have heard from us because we are actively and prayerfully working towards our public launch in a few weeks!

As part of the process leading to the election of our next bishop, the candidates participated in two events on September 27 and 28 (called “Walkabouts”), where they participated in a live Q&A session with delegates to the DOMA.

As we draw near to the election of our next bishop, there is quite naturally both excitement and uncertainty in our life together as a diocese. We know that Jesus is on the throne, he is the head of the Church, and he has promised that the gates of hell will not prevail against his Church (Matthew 16:18).

Church Planting is central to the mission strategy of the Diocese. Since its founding, the diocese has consistently devoted itself to planting a thriving network of Anglican churches throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

On Sept. 13, Clergy from around the Diocese gathered at Truro Anglican Church, Fairfax, VA, to pray together, learn together, and enjoy time together with Bishop John at his last clergy day before retirement.
