Hurricane Harvey (2017) happened over 7 years ago, but we at ARDF remember it well. This category 4 hurricane caused catastrophic flooding and displaced more than 30,000 people in TX and LA - becoming the catalyst for Anglicans all over the country to help survivors of natural disasters through our Domestic Disaster Response Network. 

Thirteen intrepid souls from Christ Church Accokeek in Accokeek, MD, ages 11-65, went on mission to serve the people of Paintsville, KY from August 4-10.

But why is this conference so important? APCN co-leader, Patricia Streeter, explains: “In these horrific days of attack on the church, it is imperative that we encourage each other in our quest to share the hope and light of Jesus to a very dark world.

The Anglican Persecuted Church Network (APCN), a mission network of New Wineskins, invites you to a two-day conference this September 27 & 28 in Texas, focused on supporting the global persecuted church.

ARDF is focusing on Domestic Natural Disaster Response in April, calling for a Parish Coordinator in every parish in the ACNA. Volunteer Parish Coordinators help families and individuals in their church engage their communities through disaster response.

The Anglican Relief and Development Fund has announced two opportunities to serve communities damaged by hurricanes.

On September 11, 2023, residents of the coastal city Derna in Libya awoke to the explosive sounds of two dams breaking, releasing a wall of water that quickly destroyed sections of the city and killed thousands.

On Oct. 10, Global Christian Relief (GCR) is presenting an inspirational and unique opportunity to deepen your awareness of persecution experienced by followers of Jesus at The Falls Church Anglican from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Peak fire conditions have characterized much of Hawaii for some time, so when blazes broke out on Maui the fire swept across the land in a deadly blaze. At least 106 people have died so far. ARDF is collecting funds to support survivors, and Anglican Churches are helping survivors find shelter. They are also providing food and emergency kits.

Truro Anglican Church (Fairfax, VA) has sent a work team to Harlem Heights, Florida to help rebuild homes and restore lives in a multi-ethnic community affected by the devastation of Hurricane Ian.

The Anglican Relief and Development Fund has been around since 2004, but with this long name it can sometimes be confusing to know who they are and what they do. Thankfully, their mission can be explained by their acronym: ARDF.

When one thinks of disaster response, mucking flooded houses and clearing trees and debris come to mind. And while these are important tasks during emergency relief, long-term recovery means so much more to survivors of a natural disaster.

The Falls Church Anglican is participating with ARDF (Anglican Relief and Development Fund) and other Anglican churches in a Disaster Relief Mission Trip to Florida. ARDF will be partnering with AIM (Adventures in Missions), a nondenominational Christian relief organization that is on-the-ground in Ft. Myers.

ARDF is collecting funds for the disaster in Turkey/Syria through the Joseph Fund, and is currently working to connect with partners on the ground. 

Through the help of the ARDF, we have been able to feed 3000 people, purchase much needed heaters and supplies for winter and start collecting items for babies.
