Since our founding as a diocese in the Anglican Church in North America, the Diocese of the Mid- Atlantic has partnered with local congregations, lay groups and clergy to plant new churches throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We have had an exciting few years! Since 2021, the diocese has assisted in planting eight new churches:

  • All Souls in Richmond, VA

  • Christ the Redeemer in Dillsburg, PA

  • Corpus Christi in Springfield, VA

  • Good Shepherd in Charlottesville, VA

  • Resurrection in Midlothian VA

  • St. Andrews in Frederick, MD

  • St. Barnabas in Towson, MD

  • Trinity in Burke, VA

We also assisted Christ Church Vienna in Vienna, VA with their Spanish speaking congregation.

For 2025 we are in conversation about seven potential new church plants scattered throughout our region (The District of Columbia, Northern VA, Pennsylvania, and Maryland). Not all of these plants will be be planted in 2025, but four or five are likely. In light of our existing financial commitments to current plants and the new plants on the horizon we are seeking to raise $300,000 in the 2025 budget year to support these works.

The GCC offers church plants grants for church planting assessment and training, their general budget, coaching and back office support in year one.

A generous donor has pledged to give $2 for every $1 raised by the diocese up to $150,000. Please make a contribution!
