A special dimension of Holy Week at Church of the Good Shepherd, Charlottesville, VA included an art exhibit by parishioner Brittany Fan. Over the course of Holy Week services, Good Shepherd added/introduced one piece at a time along the walls of the sanctuary.

A Message from the Bishop - April 2022B
In Holy Week, we encounter Jesus’ suffering and death, and we experience anew his great love. We do not go through Holy Week because we are unsure of Jesus’ forgiveness, but because we must never take it for granted. We must never skip glibly from the “Hosannas” of Palm Sunday to Easter’s “Christ is risen.” We must walk the Way of the Cross.

Community Outreach During Holy Week
Each of our Sunday morning members invested the early part of Holy Week in contacting our Wednesday night households to arrange a good time to connect and deliver the baskets, and shopped for items to stuff the baskets. After worship on Good Friday, we assembled the baskets.
A Church Plant Celebrates Holy Week
This was our first Holy Week as a new church plant and we had the joy and privilege of joining with our friends at All Saints' Church to celebrate the Triduum jointly. As I have been thinking back to a few of the highlights of that week, there are three that come to mind.
Ushering Children into the Joy of Easter
On Saturday, March 27, children from Incarnation Church in Williamsburg, VA gathered at a neighborhood clubhouse to paint "resurrection" eggs and decorate an "Alleluia" banner for the children's classroom.

On Tuesday, March 30, the clergy of the Diocese participated virtually in their annual Renewal of Ordination Vows service hosted by Truro Anglican Church.
An Easter Message from Archbishop Foley Beach
Holy Week reminds us that God loved us so much that he sent his Son into our world to die for our sins. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”
