Belonging to and Loved by God

by Sarah Holloway

During our recent retreat at the Roslyn Conference & Retreat Center, the women at Redeemer Anglican Church explored how different habits of being present with God grow our sense of identity as women who belong to God and who are loved by God. We heard from April Murrie, the Pastor of Formation at Church of the Good Shepherd in Charlottesville, VA, as she shared from her life and ministry experience and encouraged each of us in Christian habits for all stages of our lives.

We looked at four different stories of women who encountered Jesus and were changed: Hagar, Ruth, the woman with the issue of blood, and Mary and Martha. Personally, what stuck out to me is the truth that God is generous but it's not always the material things that He is generous with, but He is generous in giving us Himself - his attention, his love, and his presence.

Sarah Holloway is the Parish Administrator at Redeemer Anglican Church in Richmond, VA.
