MoGS Brunch is a ministry initiated by a group of moms at Good Shepherd, gathering once a month, and providing breakfast and childcare for younger moms.

Nestled in the vibrant college town of Lynchburg, VA, the Church of the Good Shepherd embraced the Christmas spirit with a delightful evening of caroling led by their enthusiastic college students.

The Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic is thrilled to congratulate winners of the 2023 Archbishop’s Annual Summer Essay Contest: The Venerable Canon Justin Murff (currently serving as Interim Rector at Incarnation Anglican in Williamsburg, VA) and Todd Milton, parishioner at Church of the Good Shepherd in Lynchburg, VA.

Church of the Good Shepherd, Lynchburg, VA is a place where many weary, hurting people have come to find rest and hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. We often hear that the grieving, the wounded, and the weary receive comfort and healing by coming to Sunday worship and partaking in the liturgy. 

Lent brings us on the well-worn path of our church calendar journey to the edge of the wilderness, the dry desolate place where we are invited to set down our excesses and instead take the hand of our humble, wounded and faithful Friend. Like the traveler walking out of a forest, we emerge from the abundant seasons of Christmas and Epiphany, of feasting and light and holy alleluias, where we have been nourished and blessed.
