Preparing Little Hearts for a Big, Glorious Easter!

A year of quarantine has only increased the creativity of children, youth, and family ministries. It is amazing to see how churches in the Diocese are encouraging all ages to draw closer to the Lord during Lent, even while apart. Enjoy these videos, resources, and fun ideas:

All Saints’ Church in Woodbridge, VA provided families with “Lent in a Box” which contains everything needed for devotional activities in prayers for the “Lil’ Saints’.” Included activities are pretzel prayers and nature walks and prayer jars. Download a copy of the devotional booklet here.

The Falls Church Anglican in Falls Church, VA offers families a weekly Lenten devotion video. Each video offers meditations on characters in the Holy Week story, worship led by a variety of families and worship leaders, prayers, and conversation questions to facilitate deeper heart connections. Enjoy the videos here.

The Franconia-Springfield Mission in Fairfax, VA hosted a special event for families to make Resurrection Gardens. These gardens help all ages look ahead to the resurrection of Jesus as they grow throughout the seasons of Lent and Eastertide. Learn more about their ministries here.

Truro Anglican in Fairfax, VA is offering a video series titled “Journey into Lent.” These videos are available for the little ones to enjoy at any time, but some parents like to queue the video up on a separate device for their kids to watch during the sermon! See videos here.
