Youth at Corpus Christi Supports local Outreach

by Morgan Reed

This year the older youth at Corpus Christi Anglican Church, Springfield, VA, led an outreach event where we sold Christmas trees to give a percentage of the sales to the Ecumenical Community Housing Organization (ECHO). The ECHO serves households in Springfield with clothing, food, emergency rental assistance, and much more. The kids got to trim trees, meet people, and tie trees onto cars. We made s'mores, had hot chocolate and pizza, and made a craft with kids from the community while parents shopped for trees. It was a wonderful, intergenerational opportunity to serve the community and show the love of Christ through hospitality.

The Rev. Dr. Morgan Reed is the Vicar at Corpus Christi Anglican Church in Springfield, VA.
