Joyful Tradition: All Saints' Hosts Living Nativity and Community Food Drive

by Emily Trenum

This year, All Saints' Church in Woodbridge, VA had its fourth annual Living Nativity! This free drive-through event for the community began in 2020 when many of the usual Christmas events were canceled due to Covid. The tradition has continued with so many from around the Dale City community attending this outdoor event. There are five scenes viewers will experience as they drive around the church's backyard including costumed roles, lights, music, and live animals. This year 236 vehicles drove through the Living Nativity with well over 300 children experiencing the message of the birth of Jesus!

All who attend this event are invited to bring a donation of canned food to contribute to the All Saints' Church Food Pantry. The Food Pantry supports monthly food giveaways every second Saturday of the month. Anyone from the community can come to the giveaways and select the items they need. This outreach consistently supports over 200 families each month in Dale City.

Emily Trenum is the Communications Director at All Saints’ Church in Woodbridge, VA.
