A letter from Heather Adams, Registrar for DOMA

by Heather Adams

“For everything there is a season...a time to weep and a time to laugh...” (Ecclesiastes 3:1,4a)

I believe the Lord has told me it’s time to retire — a time to weep. This has been such a wonderful job. I consider it an honor and a privilege to have worked with such a godly group of people. When I look back over the years, I’m so thankful to God for all He has done in developing our diocese.

One of the treasures I will always keep in my heart is Synod. A highlight is Friday evening’s Eucharist. Seeing our faithful clergy, many who had lost buildings and sacrificed much, coming from different backgrounds and traditions, processing in and worshipping together as a family, would move me to tears. Our clergy make DOMA special. In the past few years, more clergy have joined our family, and that is a good thing. God has so much more for us and that is exciting.

As for me, I hope to spend more time visiting grandchildren, traveling, and sorting through photographs and spending time with my husband Rich on our “farm.”— a time to laugh.

Heather has been with the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic since it's formation in 2011, serving in multiple key roles during her tenure, including Registrar and Event Coordinator. Heather has been instrumental in developing the policies and systems that enable us to function together. Famous for all things Canadian, Heather’s gracious efficiency is an inspiration to all who have known and worked with her.
