Truro Anglican Seniors & International Guests Celebrate Thanksgiving Together

by Coleman Tyler

On Sat. Nov. 20, over 50 Seniors gathered at Noon in the Undercroft at Truro Anglican in Fairfax, VA for a wonderful Thanksgiving Buffet Banquet.  After lunch and a short program there, our Seniors joined another 50 TIPS (Truro Programs & Services) international guests and volunteers for a beautiful program in the Sanctuary, organized by staff TIPS leaders Pilar Remer and Myra Hinote.  After some Thanksgiving songs, Associate Rector Coleman Tyler brought a message on “Being Thankful IN and FOR” – weaving in the Gospel message and an opportunity to welcome Christ into our lives.  A local Chinese Choir sang some lovely hymns.

Then everyone gathered in the Truro Courtyard for a huge dessert/cider/fruit buffet, provided by our TIPS volunteers. The clear, crisp November afternoon made for the perfect setting, beautifully arranged by Myra and Pilar…  all to make for a very memorable Thanksgiving celebration at Truro!

The Rev. Coleman Tyler is the Associate Rector for Pastoral Care and Seniors at Truro Church in Fairfax, VA.
