Quarterly Children's Ministry Gathering

by Tara Pedersen

Several years ago, Children's Leaders and Directors of DOMA began meeting for a quarterly lunch to encourage one another and to share testimonies and praises within our local churches. Children's directors met this past May at All Saints' Church in Woodbridge, VA with guest, Catherine Warner, wife of Bishop Chris Warner. Catherine shared the testimony of their three children, now young adults, their parenthood journey, the testimony of each in their encounter with the Lord, and how they now serve Him today.

Catherine also inspired Children's Ministry leaders in ways to lead their homes in the Word of God, and in personal quiet times with the Lord. One way Bishop Chris and Catherine start their day is in their daily discipline of morning walks with the Daily Office app, keeping them grounded in Christ and in time together.

Catherine also exhorted DOMA Children's Leaders in the seven priorities articulated by the General Secretary and endorsed by the GAFCON Primates, focusing on the third priority, "We will prioritize youth and children's ministry that instructs them in the Word of the Lord, disciples them to maturity in Christ, and equips them for a lifetime of Christian service."

Attending directors and leaders represented were from Restoration Anglican, Church of the Apostles, Immanuel Anglican Church, Redeemer Anglican Church, The Falls Church Anglican, Shepherds Heart Anglican Church, and All Saints' Church.

The next gathering will be in September. Contact Tara Pedersen or Louise Brooks for more information.

Tara Pedersen is the Children’s Ministry Director at All Saints’ Church in Woodbridge, VA.
