Meager Meal Outreach Tradition Continues

by Vern Caswell

Our Meager Meal at Holy Spirit Anglican is a soup and bread supper that we hold before our teaching series each Wednesday during Lent. We are "socially distanced" during the meal. After the meal, we have a time of worship and a teaching using a DVD series. This Lent we are using "The Life of Jesus" group study with a video and participant guides for our discussion time. This is our sixth annual teaching series in Lent. We have done five for Advent. We have excellent participation and have several guests participate. We try to use it as an introduction, not only to Jesus or some aspect of our faith, but as an opportunity to invite people outside the church to join in and grow in their faith.

The Rev.Vern Caswell is the Vicar at Holy Spirit Anglican in Lewes, DE.
