Festival of Lessons and Carols

As we prepare to enter into the Christmas season together, Church of the Resurrection, Lutherville, MD, would like to invite our entire church family and friends to the Festival of Lessons and Carols on Friday, December 2, 7:30 p.m. This concert is an annual favorite for both the Maryland State Boychoir and Church of the Resurrection. Over the years, it has become a popular way in our community to kickoff getting into the Christmas spirit.

Several components come together to make up the Festival of Lessons and Carols service:

  • Well-known Christmas hymns sung by the congregation

  • Solo performances of traditional carols by Maryland State Boychoir members

  • Pieces of Anglican liturgy turned choral, such as the Lord’s Prayer

  • Scriptures that tell the story of Christ’s incarnation at Christmastime, beginning with a reading from Genesis and closing with a reading from Revelation

Please join us for this festive telling of the Gospel, and consider inviting friends or family! We encourage you to RSVP HERE as this event often draws a large crowd. Let’s pray that our worship through song would be pleasing to the Lord as we approach the time of Advent.
