Volunteering in the Holy Land

The accompanying brochure (link below) about volunteering in the Holy Land is from the Anglican Church’s Ministry among Jewish People in Israel (CMJ Israel). Their work is among all the people of Israel, Jews and Gentiles. Their witness is community based and multi-faceted.

The preferred time a volunteer serves is from six month up to two years (the limit allowed by the state of Israel). The opportunity is available to all ages of disciples of Jesus. The program promotes discipleship, so the hard work which volunteers (and most of the staff) do involves serving others almost all of the time. It is a marvelous help in learning humility. And it is mostly physical (room cleaning, meal preparation and clean-up, etc.) and interpersonal. Older volunteers are very welcome, but need to be in good health. Gap year students are also welcome. Room and board are provided.

The brochure explains more, and includes a link to an initial inquiry for and upload button for your resume. The staff from CMJ Israel will then connect with you and provide additional details. If you are initially accepted, you will need to complete a longer application, send your written testimony, and provide several documents required for a visa.
