Immanuel Anglican Church, Woodbridge, VA, hosted a community Blessing of the Pets at Andrew Leitch Park in Dale City, VA There were quite an assortment of dogs, some cats (some were blessed virtually), bunnies, a chicken, a turtle and even a ground hog! Thank you, Lord, for these companions that bring joy to our lives.

A Blessing of Pets*

Isaiah 40:11

“Lord and Giver of All Good Things, you created the world and all creatures, each wonderfully unique and endowed with attributes that illuminate the poetries of your mind, your power, your beauty, your loyalty, your sense of humor, your playfulness, your joy. Bestow your blessing upon this your creature, our delight. May it receive nurture, health, and care from your hand and from our companionship. May our love for this dear animal tender our own hearts for your purposes. In the name of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ.” Amen
