This week I was privileged to attend a small gathering of leaders engaged in advocacy for persecuted Christians in the Middle East. In light of that experience, and as we near our nation’s Independence Day, I have been reflecting on the freedoms which are under attack in this country and which are so painfully absent from the experience of Christians in other societies.
This past week, more than 60 people from our Diocese were blessed to experience the Provincial Assembly of the Anglican Church in North America, which met at the Ridgecrest Conference Center near Asheville, North Carolina. Held every few years, the Provincial Assembly brings our church together for a missions conference, as well as to do the minimal but necessary business of governance.
