When a new church is being planted in Nigeria and Uganda, they gather all the evangelists, go to the area where they are planting and they pray and share the gospel until the church has enough believers to get started. We are inspired by the example of our brothers and sisters in Africa and we want to do something similar here to support our church planters.
The Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic's Great Commission Committee is calling all evangelists, aspiring evangelists and anyone who just loves people, to gather with us on August 9, 2014, to come alongside the Rev. Dave and Alison Petty, church planters in Charlottesville. Dave and Alison are in an exciting season of plantingCrossroads Church in the Belmont area of Charlottesville, VA. This summer they have been meeting and worshipping in a park and God is doing wonderful things!
Our goal is to spend a few hours in the Belmont area of Charlottesville, sharing the powerful love of God with the people we meet in the neighborhood and telling them a new church is here. We believe that the people we meet will encounter God’s love, receive healing, freedom and salvation. We are sure that we will meet people who will be key contacts and “people of peace” for Dave and Alison and Crossroads Church.
We will also be showing tangible powerful support and love to our church planters on the front lines of extending the Kingdom of God! Please join us!
We will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Petty’s home: 704 Palatine Ave, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Dave and Alison will give us the plan and an orientation to the area. We will pray and then hit the streets in pairs to share and pray with whomever we meet. We will come back together for a late lunch to share testimonies and we will be finished by 2:30 p.m.
If you plan to come or want to know more, just let us know!
