Church of the Holy Spirit and Truro reach out to Haiti
Earlier this spring, The Church of the Holy Spirit (CHS) sponsored its third annual mission team to Haiti. Eight missionaries representing three denominational (Anglican, Baptist, and Methodist) churches went to the Lacroix New Testament Mission in Lacroix, Haiti.
The Lacroix New Testament Mission feeds and educates over 3,500 children each day in seven locations. In addition to the schools and churches the ministry also has two medical and one mobile clinic staffed by doctors, a dentist, and it also has birthing center.
The CHS Mission Team presented costume Scriptural vignettes as a means of proclaiming the Good News. Nightly outdoor revival meetings where held where over 3,000 people heard Biblical preaching resulting in many being healed and making a profession for Christ. The Team also distributed a ton of rice to the poorest of the poor. Beading classes were conducted teenage girls so they could make their own jewelry. A portable PA system was purchased for the local church to use for evangelism meetings in the local communities. Goats (Goat gifting) were purchased to give to local school children.
Truro Anglican Church is sending a team to Haiti this summer, August 13-20, 2012. The Team Members are Agustín Martínez, Shelle Ames, Lulu Cooper, Aronica Glover, Georgene Assur, The Rev. Coleman Tyler, Laura Tyler, Patricia Ingram, The Rev. Carlos Pellot, José Carballo, and Emi Meleán.
Truro’s Haiti mission team is collecting essential items for a ministry in Haiti called God’s Little Angels (GLA). GLA currently has 115 children under its care, from newborns to thirteen year olds. If you would like to donate items they include:

- Diapers (need sizes 2 and larger, more than size 1 and newborn)
- Pull ups (all sizes)
- Powder formula (all types - including specialty formula -- need soy and specialty formulas more urgently than "regular")
- Flintstones vitamins
- Anti-bacterial hand soap
- Wet wipes
- Baby lotion
- Bags of rice and bags of beans
- Sets of twin size sheet sets.
