You are invited to participate with us in bearing witness to our conviction that all human life is created in God's own image and, as such, ought to be protected.
The thirty-ninth March for Life was held on January 23, 2012, from noon until 3:00 pm; this annual event commemorates the anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision Roe v Wade which legalized abortion, the destruction of unborn children, throughout all fifty states and throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Since January 1973, at least 52 million children have lost their lives before they could even be born.
Each year several hundred thousand pro-life Americans gather on the National Mall in Washington, DC, to declare that abortion is wrong and must end, and also to declare that there is loving and non-judgmental help available to pregnant women. We pray for the protection of unborn children and the Lord's healing of our land; and we receive encouragement from priests, pastors, and rabbis; politicians, and pro-life heroes.
Anglicans for Life at Truro, the Fairfax, VA, chapter of Anglicans for Life, invites you to join us as we gather and bear witness, pray, and encourage each other to continue the fight against legalized abortion.
How do you get to the Mall?
One way is to ride DC's Metrorail. In the Washington area there is an excellent subway system; the subway stops closest to the March starting point are Archives-Navy Memorial or L'Enfant Plaza (green and yellow lines) and Smithsonian (orange and blue lines). The closest station to the end point is Capitol South (orange and blue lines). MarchforLife.org has maps and instructions for riding the Metrorail in DC, as well as a great deal of other useful information regarding the MarchforLife.
Also, Anglicans for Life at Truro will have a bus departing from Truro Church in Fairfax, VA, taking us to the March, and bringing us back to Truro afterward.
You are invited to ride our bus! We'll assemble at Truro at 10:30 am, pray and get organized, depart at 11:00 am, and return to Fairfax at around 4:30 or 5:00 (the Lord willing and the traffic permitting). And because we've received a most generous donation from one of our members, there will be no charge to ride the bus.
To reserve a seat on the bus, contact Kirsten Ball at firstname.lastname@example.org.
