I reported last week about our Diocesan Synod. Our theme was Luke 9:43, “They were all amazed at the greatness of God,…marveling at all that Jesus did.” We spent the great majority of our time hearing testimonies from each church on what the Lord is doing in and through them.
We will be posting a number of these testimonies on our website in the coming weeks. I know you’ll be blessed and encouraged by these accounts of what Jesus is doing!
Here is one testimony, from St. Brendan’s in the City, offered by Jason, a 26 year-old with a life filled with broken relationships, addiction and prison, who has been touched and transformed by Jesus Christ through the ministry of His people.

I write this on St. Andrew’s Day, November 30. Andrew was the apostle known for meeting Jesus and then immediately reaching out to bring his brother to the Lord: “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus” (John 1:40-42).
There are so many around us who need to know what the Lord is doing among us! Like Andrew, be quick to share your experience of Jesus with those you know. And you might share the link to Jason’s testimony with someone who needs to know that our God is mighty to save!
Faithfully yours in Christ,
The Rt. Rev. John A. M. Guernsey
