St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Heathsville, VA will host the final in our three-part series: China: the Emerging Giant at 6:30pm on Friday, January 21st, 2011. Our speaker will be Dr. G. Wright Doyle, Senior Associate of the Global China Center in Charlottesville, VA. His subject will be "Christianity in China."
Dr. Doyle is one of the more acclaimed experts on China in the area, and this should be a powerful presentation on all that God in doing to spread Christianity in China.
Rev. Jeff Cerar, our Rector, will host this evening. The Rev. Tad de Bordenave will introduce the speaker, and a Chinese meal will be served, prepared by our "Levites" with Ben Ward as the Head Levite.
Our two previous speakers were: Rev. Dr. Julian Linnell, Executive Director of Anglican Frontier Missions in Richmond who spoke on the History of China and most recently, Rev. Gary Russell, Director of China Harvest of Virginia Beach who spoke on the Society of China.
All of these gatherings have been well received, usually with a full house (120) attending, and more than 20% of those attending were from the larger community.
