Rev. Neal Brown, Rector, St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, Woodbridge, announced that the church will host a parish celebration featuring Fr. Walter Barrientos on Tuesday, February 2, 7-9 pm. Fr. Walter is the Rector of Jesus, El Buen Pastor Church in Tarija, Bolivia. The church, which he founded in 2006, has become the second fastest growing church in South America. He has also established a mission church, Santa Cruz, in Tarija that ministers to people in one of the region’s poorest areas.

Fr. Walter will share how his deep faith in the Lord led to a miraculous healing from stage-four cancer. Shunning medical treatment which provided few positive results, Fr. Walter turned only to God for healing. Given several weeks to live, Fr. Walter returned from a trip to Israel free of the debilitating pain which had confined him to bed. Recent findings by doctors show that there is no trace of cancer in Fr. Walter.

St. Margaret’s has been supporting Fr. Walter’s work in Bolivia and has sent mission teams there for the past three years. The well-known Bolivian band, Latidos, featuring Fernando Torrico and Gina Gil will perform.
