A Stewardship Workshop For Clergy and Vestries: March 10, 2012 In a special workshop designed especially for rectors, clergy, all vestry members, stewardship chairs and any other interested persons, Bishop John Guernsey will be teaching about tranformational biblical and practical stewardship principles on Saturday, March 10, 2012, 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. at All Saints' Church in Woodbridge, Va. (14851 Gideon Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22192). Bishop Guernsey taught the financial stewardship education course at the Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) for 12 years, as well as led stewardship education workshops in dozens of parishes and dioceses. In this workshop he will teach biblical perspectives of stewardship that are transformative and life-changing for individuals, vestries, and congregations. You won't want to miss it! The Connection newspaper profiles the launch of a new Anglican Church in the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic, Christ Church Vienna: Johnny Kurcina grew up in Vienna, going to local schools, playing local sports. Like many teenage boys, Kurcina wanted to get away from his hometown after graduating from James Madison High School. He did get away for a while, as far as seminary school in the UK. But he discovered he couldn't wait to get back to Vienna. He did return, married and became a father of three. Now, he's "planting" an Anglican church in his hometown. #While at James Madison High School, Kurcina considered applying to a military academy. He was very involved with a youth Christian group, Young Life, in high school and found that "something really fit" with his role with his peers in relationship to his Christian faith.
