Clergy and Clergy Spouse Retreat 2018
2016 Clergy Retreat
Wyndham Virginia Crossings
Glen Allen, VA
We warmly invite you to join us for the second diocesan-wide Retreat for Clergy and Spouses of Clergy to be held near Richmond, from 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, to noon on Wednesday, April 18, 2016. Two years ago we met for the first time, and many participants commented that it was the best clergy and spouses event they had ever attended.
We have prayed and planned for the retreat to truly be a time of refreshment. We’ll be drawing on Paul’s Letter to the Philippians and its theme of knowing joy in Christ in all circumstances, both positive and painful. Come and be refreshed.
Who is it for?
All resident and licensed clergy of the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic and all clergy spouses are invited. This is not a marriage retreat nor a clergy retreat that spouses can sit in on. It’s a retreat for each one, regardless of life stage, demographic, or vocation. Every member of the clergy is urged to come even if your spouse can’t.
A beautiful setting
The retreat will once again take place at the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center, 12 miles north of Richmond. The Wyndham is a beautiful facility, with comfortable rooms, great food, and lovely grounds—including a golf course, pool and hot tub, fire pit, and sand volleyball court.
The Diocese is covering nearly all of the cost of the retreat. We only ask each person to pay a $25 registration fee so that we can give an accurate count to the Wyndham. The Diocese will cover the cost of your room and meals.*
(*The cost covered by the Diocese assumes double occupancy in each room [two queen-size beds]. If you’re coming by yourself and would rather not share a room, the cost to you will be $140 inclusive of the $25 registration fee.)
The planning group has prayerfully sought to provide sessions to bless, nourish, and encourage. There will be worship, times of sharing, space for walks and talks, fellowship, and some fun as well. There are several and varied speakers, all from among ourselves and our friends.
In addition, a full-length feature film is being screened through the kindness of its creator. And prayer ministry will be offered, too.
Children preschool age and younger are welcome; we’ll provide childcare during the content sessions. Let us know when you register if you’ll be bringing a child(ren), and we’ll send you additional information.
